Ahmed Gadalla, also known as Ahmed Alushibe, is a Libyan industrialist and the founder and Chairman of Alushibe Holding Group, established in 2008. He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Garyounis, now the University of Benghazi.
His business life began with a small automotive-parts shop in Benghazi. From there he moved into distribution and logistics, and spent his early career building commercial links between North Africa and the Gulf in procurement, logistics and supply chains. His first bank stake, in the Commercial and Development Bank (BCD), dates from 2005. On 21 December 2008 he founded Al Mored Oasis General Trading LLC in the UAE, which became the base of his business activity in the Gulf. Aviation entered the picture in 2010 with a holding in Berniq Airways.
His focus then turned to heavy industry. He chairs Libya United Steel Company (SULB) and the Tosyali-SULB partnership, a direct reduced iron steel complex in Benghazi that the group describes as one of the largest DRI projects in the world. He took a stake in Libyan Cement Company in 2023 and subsequently became chairman of its board; in 2024 about 80 homes for workers were built in connection with the company's operations. In 2026 work is under way to restore the second production line at LCC's Hawari plant after 13 years out of service, while the Zulfa Food Industries factory is moving from construction towards production readiness.
He kept his companies operating in Benghazi through the conflict years of the 2010s. He has continued to study throughout his career: an Extended Diploma in International Business Strategy from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (2021–2022), membership of the Chartered Management Institute since 2022, and an MBA from International Business University, Toronto (2025). He is now pursuing doctoral-level studies. His recurring concerns are jobs and training for young Libyans, housing for workers, and local industry. His motto is "Stay, adapt and keep building."
